Wojciech Fudala

Wojciech Fudala étudie à l’Académie de musique de Katowice auprès de Paweł Głombik. Il est boursier au Conservatoire de Bruxelles où il suit les cours de Jeroen Reuling et Gary Hoffman. Lauréat de concours internationaux depuis 2007, il mène une riche activité artistique de soliste, donnant des concerts entre la Belgique et la Pologne avec divers orchestres de ces pays,tfréquentant des festivals internationaux où il a l’occasion de se produire à côté d’artistes, tels que François Guye (violoncelle), Christophe Schiller (alto), Giovanni Solima (violoncelle), Eldar Nebolsim (piano), ou Arto Noras (violoncelle). Depuis 2014 il est premier violoncelle solo de l’Orchestre NFM de Wroclaw, qui, rappelons-le, a donné le 1er mars 2018 un mémorable concert à Equilibre.


Wojciech Fudalastudiert an der Musikakademie Kattowitz (Katowice) bei Paweł Głombik. Er erhielt ein Stipendium für das Brüsseler Konservatorium, wo er bei Jeroen Reuling und Gary Hoffman studierte. Seit 2007 ist er Preisträger zahlreicher internationaler Wettbewerbe und hat eine reiche künstlerische Tätigkeit als Solist, gibt Konzerte in Belgien und Polen, dies mit verschiedenen Orchestern aus diesen Ländern und nimmt an internationalen Festivals teil. Er tritt mit Künstlern wie François Guye (Cello), Christophe Schiller (Viola), Giovanni Solima (Cello), Eldar Nebolsim (Klavier) oder Arto Noras (Cello) auf. Seit 2014 ist er erster Cellist des „NFM Orchestra“  von Breslau (Wroclaw), welches am 1. März 2018 im Equilibre ein unvergessliches Konzert gab.


Wojciech Fudala born in Katowice in 1988 into a family with a long artistic traditions. Wojciech Fudala started to play cello at the age of seven. From an early age he worked under a well-known polish teacher prof. Paweł Głombik. He continued his education as a student of prof. Głombik at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice.  As a stipendist of the Government of Belgium, he studied with Jeroen Reuling at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels and in 2012 has obtained a diploma with a highest distinction. He has completed his education as a Young Artist in Residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth where he studied under Gary Hoffman.
He has trained his musical skills during master classes under the supervision of Ralph Kirchbaum, Peter Wispelwey, Julius Berger, Ivan Monighetti, Catalin Ilea.Wojciech Fudala made his orchestral debut in 2005 performing Luigi Boccherini G Major cello concerto with the Festival Orchestra of the Zamosc Musical Days Festival under direction of maestro Łukasz Borowicz. Year after he was invited to perform C. Saint-Saens cello concerto accompanied by a cello ensemble of the Universitat der Kunste Berlin on the evening concert at the UDK. From this moment he has performed with numerous orchestras, such as Brussels Chamber Orchestra, Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of K. Szymanowski Music Academy, Silesian Philharmony, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Liege Philharmonic Orchestra with conductors Massimiliano Caldi, Jerzy Kosek, Paweł Kotla, Christian Arming Augustin Dumay. He has played chamber music recitals on international festivals (Wratislavia Cantans, Schiermonikoog Festival, Festival de Megeve, Encuentero de Musica Santander). He has appeared on the most important music stages in Poland and also Sale Henry le Beouf at Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels, Casa da Musica Porto, Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. He has recorded for CD labels CD Accord, Fuga Libera, Acte Preable and also for Polish Radio and BBC.
Wojciech Fudala has won many awards and received numerous acknowledgments at national and international competitions, among them:
Special award at the B. Huberman International Chamber Music Competition in Częstochowa together with the pianist Marcin Mogiła (2013),
2nd Prize and a Special Award for a compulsory piece at the M. Spisak International Music Competition in Dabrowa Gornicza (2010),
1st Prize at the E. Baert International Cello Competition in Brussels (2010),
1st Prize at the L.Boccherini Cello Competition in Zamosc (2005),
1st Prize at the International Cello Competition in Kosice (2002,2004),
3rd Prize at the D. Popper International Cello Competition in Varpalota (2004).
Wojciech Fudala is an active chamber musician. He has cooperated with such musicians as Christophe Schiller, Priya Mitchel, Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska, Mateusz Borowiak, Szymon Marciniak, Francois Guye, Lorenzo Gatto, Eldar Nebolsin, Giovanni Sollima. Since year 2012 he is a member of the Polish Cello Quartet founded by the outstanding cellists of the polish young generation. The artistic activity of the PCQ takes a big part of his musical live. The quartet has premiered a number of pieces commisioned by this ensemble. They have cooperated with renowned artists from different musical fields, such as free jazz and experimental music. In the year 2017 the quartet has premiered a debut CD, PCQ - Discoveries (CD Accord).
For his artistic achievements he has been awarded with a Scholarship of the Polish Ministry of Culture, Polish National Foundation for Kids, Annual Award of the President of City Katowice, Ingeborg Koberle Prize, Scholarship of the Mecenagora Foundation.
